Sheriff's Department Requests Assistance in Identification of Skeletal Remains
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 12:01 AM

Original Press Release: Skeletal Remains Found
Friday, October 24, 2008 4:00 PM

For Immediate Release:

The analyses of skeletal remains found in the Feather River Bottoms area on October 24, 2008 have been completed. The analysis was conducted by Dr. Turhon A. Murad from the California State University at Chico, Human Identification Laboratory (CSUS-HIL). Some of the facts regarding the identification of the skeletal remains gleaned from the examination include that the remains are most likely those of a Caucasian male adult, 55 years of age or older, 5' 10 plus or minus 2 inches. The remains had most likely been at their discovery site from one to two years. This person had poor dental health with all of his upper teeth missing and his lower molars missing ante mortem for some time. There is some dental work present that could ultimately be useful in determining identification. It was observed that the subject suffered from arthritis in one his shoulders. It is also possible that the subject either rode horses or large motorcycles for a considerable period of time in his life. The exact cause of death has yet to be determined and further analysis and investigation will be conducted.

  2. On February 11, 1983 a woman by the name of Shirley Drummond was murdered in Olivehurst,
her then boyfriend Alfred "Thomas" Dunaway was a suspect in the case..His defense Lawyer was Dennis Buckley... The evidence during the trial was very weak. Back then DNA was not what it is today. They found Tom about 3 weeks after her death. He lived in the home with Shirley. she was brutally beaten to death. Some how he was found "Not Guilty". How that is possible, i will never understand... But it also puzzles me as to why there is absolutely no information, news articles, nothing on line about her death or the trial. If anyone has any information on this case or story please email me @ anjeliquemarie123@gmail.com Please. Thank you

  3. Chairo Garibay graduated at my high school she was 5 years older then me. I remember it was on January 2006 it was morning recess before class. When I first arrived to school I remember seeing the kids were all silence and look at me. A friend of mind walked up to me and asked "Serena do you remember Chairo Garibay"? I shooked my "no" because I don't know who she was. At the end of the day when I arrived home I found out she was friend with both of my sister's.

On her funeral day I remember seeing all bunch of vehicles lining up, parking inside and outside the cemetery. She must be the town's favorite person like a celebrity.
